For students at Quest, art and physical education are not “extras”; they are essential parts of their development. Both support the whole child, nurturing creativity, coordination, confidence, and self-expression.

Art in the Montessori environment gives children a language beyond words. Through painting, drawing, sculpture, and design, children explore ideas, emotions, and observations of the world around them. At Quest, art is process-based rather than product-driven. Children are free to experiment, make choices, and develop their own creative voice without pressure for a “perfect” outcome. This builds independence and trust in their own ideas.

During art class, Middle School students create self-portraits, start with sketches before finishing them with paint

Physical education is equally vital. Movement supports cognitive development, focus, and emotional regulation. Whether through structured activities, outdoor play, or coordinated group games, children develop balance, strength, spatial awareness, and teamwork. At Quest, we recognize that children learn through their bodies as much as through their minds.

While in P.E., students build foundational sports skills while learning the value of teamwork

Together, art and physical education create a balanced learning experience. They allow children to express themselves fully, build resilience, and engage with the world in meaningful ways. At Quest, we honor both as core parts of how children grow, learn, and become confident individuals.
