Accredited Montessori School

What Is Accreditation?

Accreditation is a formal, rigorous process that ensures a school meets and maintains high standards of educational excellence, safety, and organizational integrity. At Quest Montessori School, we are proud to be fully accredited by both the American Montessori Society (AMS) and the Association of Independent Schools in New England (AISNE).

This means our school has undergone a comprehensive external review of our academic programs, faculty qualifications, leadership, governance, operations, and student experience and that we are committed to ongoing reflection, growth, and improvement.

Why Accreditation Matters

Not all schools that use the Montessori name follow its philosophy with fidelity. In fact, the term “Montessori” is not trademarked, so any school can call itself Montessori—even if it doesn’t follow the core principles or use trained Montessori educators.

Many schools are members of organizations like the American Montessori Society (AMS), which offers access to resources and community. While that’s a positive first step, membership is not the same as accreditation.

At Quest, we are not just members—we are a fully accredited Montessori school. This means:

  • Our lead teachers hold AMS or AMI recognized Montessori certifications in addition to Bachelors and Masters degrees
  • Our classrooms use authentic Montessori materials and practices
  • We maintain multi-age groupings, uninterrupted work cycles, and individualized learning plans
  • We meet standards for child safety, family engagement, governance, and long-term sustainability

Accreditation ensures that your child’s Montessori experience is authentic, intentional, and of the highest quality.

What Sets Quest Apart

We are proud to be the only accredited Montessori school in Rhode Island!

Families choose Quest because they know their child will be seen, supported, and challenged in a learning environment that prioritizes both academic and social-emotional growth. Accreditation validates that commitment and holds us accountable to the highest standards in Montessori and independent school education.
